Founders’ Grove Calendar Photo Contest

Attn: Founders’ Grove Residents!

Submit your photographs for our 2010 calendar for any month of the year!

We are hoping for photographs that truly reflect the beauty and community that represent our neighborhood. The calendars will be sold next fall for an association fundraiser. The announcement is being sent out early so participants will have the opportunity to capture some photos through all of the seasons. Send in your images and we'll display them on the site for voting throughout the year!

There will be a panel of judges and official rules will follow. We look forward to your submissions. For additional information, please contact Tracy Wapp.

Beginning July 16 through the remainder of the growing season, we are going to try something new and different. In response to the bounty of our backyard gardens and the desire to share with others, stop by Sandra Underwood’s backyard at 1511 E. Olive St. from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm every Thursday and enjoy the “fruits of the garden”.

Here’s how it works:

Feel free to bring any extra produce you may have from your garden; freshly picked vegetables, herbs, flowers, fruits, etc. Select from the available array offered on the tables provided. Take home your fresh picks for a great meal from the neighborhood gardens. You do not need to contribute in order to take. Remember taking what you need helps those who have more than they know what do with! Depending on what’s growing and available, you never know what you’ll find, so be sure to stop by every week!! Thank you to all those who supply our site with great content and personal input we REALLY appreciate it!. Our neighborhood (virtual) home her online can be whatever we want it to be. Therefore if you have any ideas for particular items, stories, or even classifieds! Just send an email along to J.Donleavy@comcast.net and we’ll do our best to “make it so”.

I LOVE A PARADE!!
(Especially when I am in it!!)

Sooo...if you do as well then come take part in a 40 year tradition!!! Come help us celebrate the 4^th with us early Saturday morning. The 4th of July parade is a Founders’ Grove tradition. The parade route will be the same as in years past, not too long for folks and not too short for kids.

If you are new to the neighborhood tradition, here’s all you need to do:

Decorate your child’s bike or your pet, (or both)
and be at the corner of Woodland and Grove streets at 9:00 A.M. sharp. There is also a brunch in the backyard of Mike and Nancy Schulz’s, 1322 E. Grove, immediately following the parade. Please bring a dish to pass and perhaps lawn chairs.

Help us keep the tradition going!!

Progressive Dinner Tix are going, going…
(Hurry before we end that sentence!)

A limited number are being sold, and when they’re gone well there are (well, you know).
The Dinner date is Saturday August 22^nd.
