7 Missing Tortoise
FOUND!
Slow but steady...
Take heart in the fact that as of this posting, one of our neighbors on Woodland Ave. has a Greek Tortoise that managed to escape, and as we are 100% successful in getting neighborhood pets back to their owners, he sent a note to the FGNA website to let everyone in the neighborhood know in case they found him hiding under a bush or chomping on their hastas (or worse). Well, it turned out the turtle happened to be logged on (mind you at a very slow connection speed) read the posting, and returned home immediately! As an FYI, in case the turtle makes another daring dash, he is about 6 inches long and very friendly.

the Missing Cat.
In Search of Sam the Missing Cat....
Recently new to the Founders' Grove Neighborhood....
The Ellwood's, Adam, Dawn, Lily, Sam the Missing Cat, Jupiter the Cat, Tripod the Cat, and Willow the yappy Dog. (many of us have dogs that would qualify for the same nickname) were met the other day by former president; Bob Dawson while putting up posters of their missing well loved cat, Sam and Bob is asking for any assistance in helping these new FGNA arrivals. It would be a welcome gift from the neighborhood, we could help them find their missing cat who disappeared recently.

Their cat Sam came out with them from West Virginia, he is a Maine Coon/Tabby mix, his markings are gray/brown/dark greenish tiger stripes, he has green eyes, the bottom of his paws have tufts of hair, and he is a long hair kitty. He will come up to you if you bend down to his level and have patience, as he loves to be petted. If you get to pick him up, he will try to get out of your grasp, but will not scratch his way out. He has a penchant for sneaking out when one opens the door to the house, that's how he got away from the Ellwood's new house. The cross street where Sam the Missing Cat was last seen, is Taylor and Harwood Place, in Founders Grove. If you have any information on Sam, the Ellwood's can be reached at 1.443.223.9837 (Adam's cell phone), or 1.309.830.7768 (Dawn's cell phone) if someone happens per chance to run across him on their walks around our neighborhood. We have a 100% success rate on the return of lost pets we have presented here so again thank you for your assistance in these efforts.

WARNING! Attempted Scam artist

We had attempted scam artist show up at our home tonight with an elaborate story attempting to get money from us. He arrived at our house at about 8:30 pm claiming that he had run out of gas, filled up his gas tank and then found out he didn't have his wallet on him. He stated that he managed to get over to the house next door as he and his wife had just bought it and he thought she was going to be there tonight. He used our phone to supposedly call her. When he claimed he could not reach her he tried to get us to give him money for gas.

We called the neighbors to confirm whether they had sold the house next door or not, when they stated that they definitely had not, we called the police.

He was probably about 5'9", medium weight, mid to late 30's, short dark brown hair. He was wearing blue jeans, a t-shirt and a sweat shirt jacket.

Please help us find 'Susi.'

She is a blond golden retriever last seen this morning at 7. She was visiting from Springfield and might be heading home after this mornings earthquake. She is very friendly, and if you can get her into your yard, we will come by and get her ASAP. Or if you wish, please lock her in our backyard at 220 Leland.

Please call 531-1910 if you spot her.

Thanks for your assistance,
FGNA/Bob Dawson

Attempted break-in in the neighborhood - (follow-up)

Thanks for the heads up. We also had this happen - before Christmas during one of the ice storms. I was coming home from work about 6:30 p.m. My husband was home - upstairs - with no lights on downstairs. When I was pulling into the alley there were 2 boys standing on my corner - it seemed odd because it was quite cold out that night and it was a school night. They looked about junior high age - one short and one taller - with hooded jackets on.

Anyway, when I pulled into the garage, my husband's Jeep door was wide open as was the door into the garage. They had also pulled a yard light out of the ground.

Perhaps these two are invading our neighborhood? It certainly could be the same kids. We now lock our cars even when they are in the garage. I hope this description helps.

Attempted break-in in the neighborhood
Neighbors,
I just wanted to let you know that someone tried to break into our studio/garage last night. Fortunately they failed, but we did have to replace the entire door knob and lock mechanism. It happened between 12 noon on Thursday and 6am this morning.

If anybody saw any suspicious looking individuals roaming around our house on Kreitzer Ave, please let us know.

The police said they would keep an extra alert out and to not be surprised to see flood lights pointed up driveways or down alleys.

Thanks,
Susan and Andrew
